These honors are part of MBI’s annual Awards of Distinction, which celebrate the world’s most innovative, high-quality, and sustainable modular buildings. About the Winning Project: La Mora Senior Apartments

Located in Yonkers, NY, La Mora Senior Apartments is a five-story, 60-unit affordable housing community designed to meet the strict PHIUS CORE 2021 certification. Constructed using modular technology, the project dramatically reduced construction timelines while achieving outstanding levels of energy efficiency and design sophistication.

Developed in partnership with the Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Yonkers (MHACY) and The Mulford Corporation, La Mora exemplifies how modular construction can help address urgent housing needs sustainably and affordably. The building includes high-performance systems, energy recovery ventilation (ERV), and all-electric mechanicals setting a new standard for green multifamily housing.

The Green Building Award recognizes Signature’s leadership in sustainability, while the Judge’s Choice Award, given to the top project across all categories, underscores its innovation, execution, and community impact.
