This month, we are proud to showcase Whaler’s Residence, a stunning property in Amagansett, NY, designed by RESOLUTION: 4 ARCHITECTURE. From its modern interior design to the tranquil outdoor space, Whaler’s Residence was designed as an intimate escape for two with flexibility to host friends and family.

With its bold, clean lines and thoughtful architectural program, this Amagansett home epitomizes modern modular design. Whaler’s Residence prominently incorporates natural elements throughout the interior and exterior, blending form and function while celebrating the possibilities of custom craftsmanship.

Designed by RES4 specifically for its tricky site, the plan consists of seven modular boxes arranged in a one-story pinwheel formation, with an open kitchen, dining, and living space encircled by alternating “wings” of living quarters. Interspersed are a series of functional courtyards, including a dining deck and a pool that wraps around the southern side of the house.

The home features three bedrooms and three bathrooms within its 2,245 square feet of living space. The office flexes as an additional guest bedroom, utilizing a Murphy bed to conveniently preserve space.

Because of setback stipulations prompted by the site, including a scenic easement to the south and east and protected wetlands to the north and south, prefab construction alleviated site disturbance and reduced the duration of construction.
