Customization and Cost Engineering

High end customization of a signature building systems standard modular floor plan.

Two-story customized “Willow” model in eastern Long Island.

Signature offers our standard plans as a starting point. We invite homeowners to work with their builder to customize the modular floor plan to meet their needs. Structural changes are allowed and can be designed, optimized, and value-engineered during the design process to align with budget, site conditions, and regional requirements.

A builder we worked with in Long Island, New York modified the Willow plan by extending the length of modules. This increased the floor plan 400 SQFT.

They increased the size of the front porch and added access to the third floor.

Custom modular construction allows for a variety of specifications and finishes. The cedar shake siding on the exterior of the house exemplifies this customization.

Construction and Manufacturing

Every Willow modular home is manufactured indoors at Signature Building Systems’ modular production plant using processes that reduce weather delays, material waste, and schedule risk.

Modular construction allows design, permitting, and factory production to occur in parallel, helping shorten overall project timelines compared to traditional site-built construction.

Lot, Zoning, and Fit

The Willow can be adapted for a wide range of residential lots. Final feasibility depends on zoning setbacks, foundation type, garage configuration, porch depth, and site access. These factors should be reviewed with your local builder during pre-construction planning.
